Nathav (Mathilde Lunderskov) easily made her way into NMC’s Top 40 Songs of 2024 with ‘You still miss her’, one of two tracks of hers that we featured last year.
Her business then was potent dark electronic pop with, in that case, a heavy dose of blues (we called it simply electro-blues) in songs that reflect deeply on her failures in lurve but without the endemic Swift bitterness.
And that is what you’ll find here too, on a song dedicated “to all the brave hearts who try to hold it together when heartache has shattered them into pieces.”
Perhaps as much electro-soul as pop, after a wispy start with gentle piano notes it quickly gets pumped up with percussion that verges on invasive. There’s a retro feel to it, you can imagine it being sung by Shirley Bassey or Adele, or even Marilyn Monroe; powerful yet understated both in instrumentation and vocally.
I was half expecting the line “over you” to be followed by “Mr President”.
“Vocally” means close to perfect pitch soprano that will leave you drooling for more.
Again we have an example of top song production with a background beat that sounds like a heart fracturing into shards as if it were a shattering window.
It’s quite sumptuous as you’ll come to appreciate more with each successive listening.

It looks as if an album may come out in spring 2026.
