Nordic Music Central Viking Hero

Nordic Music Central Spotify Playlist #4 – January 2022

It’s the end of the month and that time again; the long waited Nordic Music Central Spotify Playlist for January.

As always there are some absolute crackers this month including ‘Can I come home’, what might just be the most stirring song Highasakite’s Ingrid Håvik has written. Ever. And yes, I know there’s plenty of competition for that particular accolade.

There are also contributions from math rock band Pom Poko, and their impressive EP ‘This is our House’, Swedish duo KÅRP with ‘It looks bad’ and from the same country Skott, who returns with ‘Rule the World, a track also from a new EP.

From Finland the four ‘Pints’ that make up the zany Pintandwefall entertain us with ‘Aihai’, from a forthcoming album.

A newcomer to me, Sweden’s Saven asks us to ‘Tell me when you dream’ while in complete contrast his punk rock loving countrymen Almost DEAD MEN are ‘Cruising Around’.

Back to Finland, where occasional Noel Gallagher lookalike Forwardman is having a ‘Deep Blue Dream.’

Over in Denmark, Clara Bryld is putting poetry to music in ‘Rock Stars’, a skill which shouldn’t be underestimated.

With nine of the maximum 10 songs already accounted for this is the part I don’t like as I have to leave out some many great ones. But I had to find a place for Di Leva’s tribute to David Bowie on his 75th Birthday, with his tasteful cover of ‘Heroes’.

Remember, you can read the reviews of all these songs and/or the albums they came from on the Nordic Music Central website.

Enjoy!
