Lush Lullaby (Lars Bredahl and band) has largely been known within NMC for post-punk and garage song creations but we have learned over the last couple of years that they are a band of many parts.
And in keeping with the last couple of rather gentle songs we’ve had, Funch’s Christmas wish to blow his brains out and Andreas Aleman’s ‘Peace’, which couldn’t be more different,Lush Lullaby’s ‘Light’ moves in similar ways, driven by simple guitar and keyboard melodies and assorted other instruments including one of those baby keyboards by the sound of it.
It’s a delicate ballad, verging even on a lullaby as it says on the tin, totally disarming because you aren’t expecting it; knowing what they’ve recorded previously.
Light, love, hope, dreams, peace. Perhaps it’s just the spirit of the season. Perhaps they’re undergoing some sort of renaissance, they’ve seen the light.
Who can say for sure just what is happening here?
