Tidsrymd hails from Sandviken, in central Sweden.
For one of the last posts of the year I thought we’d take a listen to what is his remix of an original song by Ljudvägg & Hall, ‘För oss nu’ (‘For us now’), on the Lamour label, which is based nearby.
Whether you are religious, just need a few days’ break or are getting ready to hit the bottle hard over the next week, this is exactly the mental preparation you need.
I can’t locate the original so a comparison can’t be made but the emphasis here is on a stripped-down remix where both Hall´s emotional vocals and Ljudvägg´s minimalist piano have their place.
The very essence of ethereal, it could be supporting an image of three wise blokes on camels heading east towards a star or equally a Christmas ghost story on the telly, or someone tracking 3I Atlas to its next port of call.
Music for Spaceports, perhaps.
It’s the sort of music that makes no lyrical demands on you (or at least when you don’t speak Swedish!) but still leaves its mark, compellingly. Especially the employment of what sounded like a theremin in the latter part of the piece, a criminally underused device. Turns out it is a a Moog Slim Phatty!
